LAHORE: Mr. Bilal Afzal, interim provincial minister for excise, taxation, communication, and works in Punjab, visited the site of the Kalma Chowk Underpass remodeling project, which is being carried out by the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District, on the instructions of interim chief minister of Punjab, Mr. Mohsin Raza Naqvi (CBD Punjab).
Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Commissioner of Lahore Division, Mr. Imran Amin, the CEO of PCBDDA, Mr. Imran Amin, Mr. Ibrahim Arbab, the Assistant Commissioner of Model Town, Mr. Ibrahim Arbab, the Managing Director of WASA, the CEO of LWMC, the CEO of LESCO, the Directors of Engineering at SNGPL and PHA in Lahore, the Director of Rescue at 1122, the DSP of Traffic Police at Gulberg.
The Provincial Minister was briefed by Mr. Riaz Hussain, Executive Director of Technical PCBDDA, on the project’s development.
According to the Chief Minister of Punjab’s directions, CBD Punjab has finished all of the piling work and will finish slabbing the barrels in the allotted time.
Heavy machinery is also being mobilized to speed up the development process.
The meeting to examine the project’s progress, which was co-chaired by Commissioner Lahore, was also presided over by the provincial minister. The provincial minister spoke during the meeting.
The public’s alleviation is our first concern, and CM Punjab has a clear vision for it, according to Bilal Afzal. I have instructed all involved departments to collaborate in order to complete this project on time.
I predict that this initiative will alter Lahore’s development landscape. He continued by saying that the chief minister of Punjab had specifically asked him to supervise this project and that under his instructions, he would check on its progress every three days.
While expressing his opinions, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Commissioner of Lahore Division, stated that Chief Minister Punjab was particularly concerned with the prompt completion of this project to lessen the inconvenience to Lahore residents’ daily commutes.
The rate of progress is good, and I have strong hopes that this project will be finished on schedule in accordance with the instructions of CM Punjab.
According to the Chief Minister of Punjab’s direction, the government authorities, PCBDDA administration, and the project’s official contractor have planned to open all the roads by the middle of February 2023 and to finish the entire project by the end of March 2023.
