WASA (Water and Sanitation Agency) is under a debt of 6.75 Billion Rupees of LESCO (Lahore Electric Supply Company) in terms of Electricity Bills. LESCO officials acknowledged that they have issued a termination order for all connections affiliated with WASA, citing their recurrent failure to pay invoices.
This could be avoided if WASA would be paying some amount in installments. But not a single penny has been paid by WASA this year despite several written notifications and reminders being sent.
The amount was increasing day by day so LESCO officials had to take this step after multiple discussions over the table over the last couple of months.
