LAHORE: Finally, LESCO management has sanctioned a one-month salary as a Performance Allowance to recognize the services of its workers who are executing the most hazardous kind of job and working double duty due to a severe scarcity of staff due to the recruiting restrictions.
Workers’ safety is compromised due to a lack of line staff. The corporation has sent its clearance to Pakistan’s Energy Division to lift the recruitment restriction, but the ban remains in effect.
The management has taken immediate action to recognize the employees’ contributions and has issued an order for pay raises and promotions.
Ch M Amin, Chief Executive Officer of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), made this statement on Thursday while speaking to the electrical employees at Bakhtiar Labor. He challenged the staff to go above and beyond to fulfill a duty to the nation: serving the electricity consumers.
“We believe this should be announced by other DISCOs like MEPCO etc too”, CEO Said
Khurshid Ahmad, a seasoned union representative, asked management to act quickly to fill open positions on the energy staff on this occasion. The amount of work has increased daily as the current employees have been retiring.
He pushed for the quickest possible pay scale upgrade and promotion of qualified LESCO employees.
