Operations against electricity theft and unpaid electricity bills have begun at WAPDA under the direction of the District Administration Abbottabad.
Along with the police, a committee led by Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Saqlain Salim, SDO WAPDA conducted raids on Thanna and Totni, and suspended electricity service for improperly connecting to or using Kunda and failing to pay bills.
Committee also filed a police report during the raid and seized a sizable quantity of electricity cables into its custody.
Similar legal actions are being taken against commercial defaulters in the Abbottabad metropolitan region for unpaid electricity bills, and they are being overseen by the district administration just like WAPDA conducted the raid on Nazir Cotton Mills.
The committee led by Assistant Commissioner Saqlain Saleem of the Abbottabad Police, PESCO, and other parties began taking measures to shut off the power of defaulters for unpaid bills.
Recently, the district administration, PESCO, and police should work together to take strong action against electricity thieves. This committee was established by Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Tariq Salam Marwat to combat energy theft and non-payment of dues.
