LESCO Headoffice: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) issued instructions on Wednesday for the instant dismissal of officers and field workers proven to be complicit in helping electricity thieves in any way.
LESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider presided over a meeting at the power utility’s headquarters and shared a comprehensive strategy for taking effective and coordinated action against electricity thieves.
In addition to issuing categorical directions to all Circle Superintending Engineers, Chief Law Officer, and Circle Legal Counsel in this regard.
It was determined to fire all staff including LESCO Staff who were found to be helping electrical thieves right away.
‘We have one target at this moment, power thieves will not be spared, even if the facilitators include LESCO staff ‘.
‘Cases will be filed against even authorities involved in electricity theft as soon as possible, and those who assisted the thieves will be fired,’ he added.
All Senior Engineers and Field Managers have been tasked with identifying power theft in their respective zones. The power utility would also share data on electricity theft with law enforcement agencies and the Punjab Government in order to take the harshest possible punishment against them.
Targeted/Pointed and confirmed intelligence-based raids will also be performed against electricity thieves.
It was determined to verify meters installed at LESCO employees’ homes, and proceedings will be filed against those who are clearly involved in this theft.
