At Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) headquarters on Friday, LESCO and RUDA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Details revealed that RUDA is donating land and a master plan as part of this MoU in order to start an affordable housing project initially on 2500 acres.
“The authority’s objective is not just to restore River Ravi but to give adequate housing to the people,” RUDA CEO Imran Amin stated during the ceremony. “RUDA intends to cater to the housing needs of people,” he continued, “keeping in view the necessity to improve the availability of sufficient housing in Lahore and the significant role of the building sector in supporting economic activity.
Moreover, LESCO City, an affordable housing project, is solely for the benefit of employees, particularly junior personnel, according to Atiq Ahmad Khan, secretary/director of the LESCO Employee Housing Foundation (LEHF).
“We are grateful to RUDA for giving land for the wellbeing of staff,” Senior representatives from LESCO and RUDA attended the ceremony, he added.
