As time is passing by, this analog era is also going to its end. Now, we are in a digital time in almost every aspect of life. Electricity Meters are also digitalized in almost all of DISCO’s regions and MEPCO is one of them.
MEPCO has received multiple complaints of over-billing, back-meters by residents and sometimes corrupt people turning off their meters.
So, according to BoD’s decision, MEPCO has replaced around 2 lac electricity meters in Multan and other regions in different categories like 3-phase or single-phase etc.
During the fiscal year 2022–2023, Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) replaced 2,52,939 damaged and burned meters.
There were 247,538 single-phase, 5,335 three-phase, and 66 MI meters that have been changed yet.
In the months of July through November 2022, the following circles had their meters replaced: 18,458 in Multan, 13,859 in DG Khan, 22,035 in Vehari, 79,443 in Bahawalpur, 21,174 in Sahiwal, 40,541 in Rahim Yar Khan, 25,676 in Muzaffargarh, 18,904 in Bahawalnagar, and 12,849 in Khanewal.
