LESCO Caught 528 Electricity Thieves and Filed FIRs

This is everyone’s common knowledge that electricity theft and line losses are being borne by those consumers who are paying their LESCO bills. This is totally unjustified but yes this is happening.

After approval from the Federal Power Division approval and special instructions from committees and management, teams have been formed under all DISCOs and cities.

This is a joint operation of the Police and WAPDA Teams. This sort of operation should be carried away every month not only on the special instructions of Federal institutions.

67 electricity thieves were caught red-handed from Balochistan, 40 from Mardan, 2 from Peshawar, 300 from Sakkhar, 23 from Gujranwala and 7 from Arifwala.

A lineman involved in theft was also caught in Naarowal.

A politician Rana Irfan from Kabirwala who is MNA ticket holder of PML-N resisted when WAPDA and Police team raided his house. FIR has been filed against him too.

Detection bills policy is already being charged to 16 lac, 78 thousand consumers who had minor involvement in electricity theft.

Just adding a heads-up here, that NEPRA has increased electricity price by 1.46 Rs per unit in terms of Fuel Price Adjustment which is going to affect consumers in upcoming LESCO Bills.
