According to reports, the Chairman of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has forbidden the usage of air conditioning units in the company’s offices in response to the recent austerity measures implemented by Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif.
According to additional reports, huge cars will no longer be purchased, and the personnel has been told to drive their own vehicles. Employees have also been instructed to limit their use of office-issued automobiles to business-related activities only.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Sharif has initiated a number of austerity and simple programs. He has directed ministries to put these limits in place, and any violations will not be tolerated.
The public has lauded this “landmark judgment,” which is expected to have far-reaching consequences.
To ensure that the requirements are fully executed, a monitoring committee will be formed, directed by a cabinet member from a government coalition and involving all associated parties.
