Two LESCO Employees Have Been Injured by Bill Defaulters

SAHIWAL: Electricity bill defaulters in the Mushtaq Nagar neighborhood of Arifwala “attacked and injured” two Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) recovery personnel, claiming to overbill by the company.
According to Arifwala city police, MEPCO employees Muhammad Afzal, a lineman, and Zaheer Ahmed, a line superintendent, went to the homes of energy bill defaulters in Mushtaq Nagar and tried to remove their meters.
The residents, who were already irritated by the high power bills, are accused of attacking the two officials and injuring them. A city police team responded quickly to the incident after learning about it and freed the two MEPCO officials from the crowd.
The injured officials were subsequently transported by the police to the Arifwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medical attention.
Although no charge has yet been filed, according to the police, they are looking into the incident.
