How to Understand IESCO Bill

Here are some important terms that needed to be explained here.

1. Bill and Reading Timing

You can find out when your next bill is due by clicking on the “History” button. Clicking this button will show you all of the previous readings for that particular account as well as at what time they were read and how much your consumption was.

You might receive a different date each month but knowing which day exactly their reading takes place allows one to plan accordingly so there are no more late fees or other unpleasant surprises later down.

2. Due Date

In the top right corner of your bill, you can find the reading date and due date. These represent when an agent recorded a meter reading in their system as well as what day it was that they issued or made the payment on behalf of our utility company.

You might not think much about these small details but by paying attention to them we may be able to avoid any future problems with electricity bills.

3. What is Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA)

NEPRA takes into account the variation in fuel prices and generation mix to determine how much an FCA should be adjusted each month.

The actual increase or decrease in cost for a gallon of gas has been taken out of customers’ monthly bills with no Actual Increase Pricing Adjustment (APA) credit since October 1st, 2017.

4. Reference Number

To check the current or bill history of your IESCO bill, it is compulsory that you provide the 14-digit reference number. This will allow us access and validate, how much is the current bill and you can get a PDF copy immediately for your residential or commercial bill.

This means if there are any positive differences, GOP will allow it as a subsidy, or in case if the difference is negative then DISCO will pay to GOP as “Inter DISCO Tariff Rationalization Surcharge” (IDTR SUR).
