LAHORE: Loadshedding is going through different areas of Lahore and its surroundings due to extreme and foggy weather. LESCO’s feeders are tripping to excessive fog and disturbing the power distribution throughout the system.
Washing the transmission lines before extreme weather is a common and necessary practice of LESCO staff which is not done in a timely fashion this winter. Due to the lack of this activity, a lot of interruptions resulted. Although, there is only a 250 Megawatt shortfall in the LESCO system which could be avoided.
All LESCO circles were instructed to perform maintenance work last month, by Chief Executive Officer LESCO Ch Muhammad Amin.
However, his instructions were ignored by the lower-level employees, which resulted in load shedding, which has generally irritated customers.
Consumers may face load shedding for multiple hours due to this negligence. Let’s say who takes responsibility for this.
